When the person you love leaves, you will feel hurt and your soul will be searching. However, like the Shulamite in Song of Solomon, we can cry out to God about our feelings. You will let Him know that your heart has been battered by the absence of the one you love. The memories of the time together, the gentle touch of his hand – all of it will feel like a distant dream, a fleeting moment of joy that has vanished into thin air. We will pray to God and declare like the Shulamite, “I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, that you tell him, that I am sick of love” (Song of Solomon 5:8).
God knows when we are lovesick, and as we pray to Him, He will make him return if it is His Will. No matter how strongly your heart longs for his presence or your soul yearns for his love, it is up to God’s will for him to come back.
